Nashville International Airport (BNA) stands as a critical infrastructure asset, serving as a vital gateway to Middle Tennessee and beyond, including the vibrant Music City. Owned and operated by the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority, BNA plays a pivotal role in driving the region’s growth and economic prosperity. According to the State of Tennessee’s 2025 Economic Impact Study, the airport generated a staggering $13.8 billion in total economic impact in 2024 alone. Supporting 80,000 jobs and contributing $2.1 billion in federal, state, and local taxes, BNA is a self-sustaining enterprise that does not rely on local tax dollars. The airport is currently undergoing an ambitious $3 billion expansion plan, New Horizon, designed to enhance its capacity and boost its service offerings for years to come.

The Assistant Vice President, Airside Operations, Airport Operations Center (AOC), and Security is a leadership role reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations and Facilities at Nashville International Airport. This position is responsible for overseeing and supporting the critical functions of airfield operations and maintenance, Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Part 1542 security operations, emergency management, and the Airport Operations Center. The role demands a high level of strategic thinking and operational leadership to ensure seamless continuity, consistency, and engagement across multiple divisions within the Operations and Facilities department.

The incumbent will foster a collaborative culture that prioritizes safety, compliance, and customer service. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, including the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), TSA, airlines, tenants, and mutual aid partners, the Assistant Vice President will lead efforts to maintain the airport’s airside operations, ensuring full compliance with FAA Part 139 regulations, TSA security requirements, and other applicable federal, state, and local laws. They will oversee day-to-day operations of the Airport Communications Center, Emergency Management, Airside Operations and Maintenance, and Security/Badging.

A significant component of this role includes preparing and supporting the operations of the Emergency Operations Center and Joint Information Center during crisis or emergency situations. Additionally, the Assistant Vice President will direct capital planning, manage operating budgets, and champion workforce development initiatives to build a high-performance, service-oriented environment that aligns with the airport’s mission and the values of the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority.

This role requires expertise in managing large, diverse teams, executing complex projects, and fostering accountability through clear goal-setting and performance metrics. The ideal candidate will promote Nashville International Airport’s commitment to respect, integrity, service, and excellence (RISE), ensuring the airport experience is exceptional for all passengers and stakeholders. This position offers an attractive salary range of $150,426 to $258,897, with the final compensation based on relevant skills and experience. The Assistant Vice President will play a key part in this dynamic, fast-growing airport's future, helping to shape its operational success and strategic growth throughout Middle Tennessee and beyond.
