The Aviation Maintenance Technician position at Boeing is a critical role focused on maintaining the company’s high standards for quality and safety in aircraft operations. Job Requirements
- Relevant experience including academic qualifications, military service, or industry-related roles
- 3+ years of aircraft maintenance or equivalent troubleshooting experience
- Willingness to work variable shifts including nights and weekends
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and perform physical activities such as climbing, bending, and crouching
- Meet Export Control compliance as a 'US Person' under 22 C.F.R. § 120.62
- Pass the Boeing Conflict of Interest assessment
- Ability to pass DOT random drug and alcohol testing
- Must perform work 100% onsite
- Employee Request Transfer required for current Boeing employees in Puget Sound
- Must complete Aerospace Technician and Mechanic Aptitude Virtual Job Tryout assessment
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED preferred
- 3+ years of experience with aircraft maintenance on powered aircraft or troubleshooting electrical or complex mechanical systems
- Experience may include military service, airline, or certificated repair station background
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate preferred
- Ability to work any shift including days, evenings, nights, and weekends
- Strong technical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Current certifications, licenses, and permits relevant to aircraft maintenance
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and FAA regulations
- Knowledge of safety and quality assurance processes
Job Duties
- Perform production installations, maintenance, preventative maintenance, and alterations on aircraft structures, systems, and sub-systems including electrical and avionics
- Troubleshoot, inspect, test, repair, and service aircraft and engine systems ensuring flight-ready condition, documenting nonconformities
- Conduct audits and surveillance of manufacturing and quality assurance processes including FAA coordination
- Utilize technical specifications, sketches, manuals, and FAA publications to complete work assignments
- Maintain company and FAA-required records and inspection forms ensuring a safe and organized work environment
- Plan and organize work packages to promote safe and efficient operations and meet schedules
- Operate various information systems including company web-based systems and Microsoft Office products
- Interpret and adhere to airworthiness directives, service bulletins, and other approved data
- Apply mathematical calculations for precision measurements
- Create production aids as needed
- Maintain necessary certifications, licenses, and permits
- Exchange information with suppliers, customers, or company representatives to explain or demonstrate operations and tests
