The role of an Aircraft Mechanic at Air Methods entails comprehensive maintenance, repair, and inspection responsibilities for the Augusta 109 and other company-operated aircraft. The ideal candidate will have proven rotorcraft experience and hold an active Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate, reflecting their capability in performing complex airframe and powerplant maintenance tasks. In addition to technical expertise, this role requires proactive communication with the Pilot in Command (PIC) regarding aircraft serviceability and any maintenance issues that could affect flight safety. The Aircraft Mechanic is entrusted with validating aircraft status reports and managing inventory by requesting necessary aviation parts and supplies to support prompt repair and maintenance operations. The position requires flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and support on-call availability as per operational demands. Travel commitments make up 25 to 50 percent of the role, including support for Part 135 operations and company objectives, providing variety and exposure across different operational bases.

Candidates are expected to bring a high school diploma or equivalent with 2 to 5 years of relevant experience or training. Factory airframe/powerplant schools are preferred, along with prior experience in FAR 135 operations. The job demands technical skills in electrical troubleshooting, vibration balancing, sheet metal and composite repairs, and the ability to interpret complex maintenance documents such as Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives. Proficiency with electronic or paper maintenance manuals and familiarity with the company’s ERP system (Ramco) is advantageous.
