The position of Aviation Assembler is an entry-level role offering $20 per hour, accompanied by a hiring bonus and opportunities for career advancement. This role is well-suited for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, problem-solving, and working in a physically active environment that demands attention to detail and precision. As an Aviation Assembler, you will be responsible for performing complex assembly and installation tasks, which include fitting and adjusting parts of major production sub-assemblies, completing minor assemblies, and executing advanced riveting techniques. You will work from blueprints, tool write-ups, sketches, and verbal information to ensure assembly accuracy and conformity to specifications.

The role requires operating riveting machines such as Drivematic and Erco, applying primers and adhesives, preparing surfaces for sealing, and using measurement tools to verify product acceptance data. Attention to detail, flexibility, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are key attributes needed for success. The position demands a high school diploma or GED equivalent, physical stamina to stand and lift at least 25 pounds, and the ability to adapt to various working environments including temperature variations and dusty conditions. Job Requirements

  • Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to stand and perform work duties for an extended period
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds
  • Ability to work in various temperatures (warm, hot, cold, freezing)
  • Ability to work in an environment that includes dust and other debris

Job Qualifications

  • Experience with assembly or manual installation work preferred but not required

  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Job Duties

  • Works from blueprints, tool write-ups, lofts, sketches, verbal information, etc. to perform assigned duties
  • Performs assembly of a major production subassembly and operations of similar complexity involving assembly or installation without the aid of tools or where fitting and adjusting is necessary
  • Determines location, position, accuracy of fit, conformity to contour of parts and assemblies by comparison with blueprints and/or lofts
  • Reams holes where no tool is provided or close tolerances must be held
  • Fairs outer surfaces to form compound angles and reverse curves by adjusting frames or sunken areas
  • Performs difficult riveting operations including in areas with limited accessibility using special bucking bars and riveting tools
  • Operates riveting machines such as Drivematic and Erco
  • Makes repairs, replacements, and alterations per engineering or quality control requirements
  • Prepares surfaces for adhesive or sealing compounds by cleaning with solvent
  • Applies primer and adhesive, installs parts ensuring proper fit
  • Seals parts with appropriate sealant and fasteners
  • Visually inspects parts for proper application of sealant
  • Performs initial assembly in minor assembly tools to check fit and clearance
  • Uses check tools, fixtures, inspection gauges, and precision measuring devices to collect product acceptance data
  • Enters data into the Improved Inspection System (IIS).
