This role is a vital position based at Ontario Airport in California, directly responsible for overseeing the aircraft cabin cleaning staff supporting Southwest Airlines gates. The position operates on a schedule from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM, designated as a graveyard shift that may vary. Compensation is set at $21.50 per hour, with specific offers potentially adjusted based on applicants’ experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and market alignment. As the supervisor of the cleaning crew, the ideal candidate will manage all aspects of daily operations, ensure quality control, and uphold the safety and security standards of the work environment. Key responsibilities include establishing strong client relations, acting as the main liaison, and ensuring adherence to both standard and customized cleaning protocols that comply with OSHA requirements. This leadership role demands proactive management of schedules, staff training on equipment usage and safety measures, and immediate response to emergency cleaning needs. Emphasis is placed on promoting a culture of safety and customer service excellence, supporting staff during emergencies or off-hours, and providing reliable coverage during absences to ensure smooth operations. The job also entails continuous monitoring of staff timekeeping and exploring opportunities for expanding services and revenue streams. Job Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience supervising employees
  • experience with the aircraft cabin cleaning industry is a big plus
  • experience in team management and staff development
  • proficiency in MS Office applications
  • valid driver’s license and ability to operate a company vehicle
  • proven ability to manage confidential information

Job Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience supervising employees
  • experience in the aircraft cabin cleaning industry is a big plus
  • experience effectively managing teams including staff retention and development
  • proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
  • ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
  • strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including effective presentation abilities
  • resourceful team player with a positive outlook and approachable demeanor

Job Duties

  • Establish and maintain strong client relationships with a positive customer service orientation
  • serve as main point-of-contact for client liaisons, meeting regularly to confirm quality standards are met and service issues are promptly resolved
  • provide leadership and support while being available for emergency and off-hour support
  • promote strong safety culture and work environment
  • train staff to utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow safe movement practices
  • plan and assign work schedules to ensure service delivery expectations are achieved
  • ensure timely responses to client-reported emergency cleaning situations
  • train staff on building and property security protocols
  • train staff on ABM standard cleaning methods and non-standard cleaning protocols
  • train staff to ensure cleaning supplies/chemicals are appropriately utilized and properly stored, maintaining SDS sheets and OSHA requirements
  • train staff on safe operation of all cleaning equipment
  • train and manage site janitorial and porter staff
  • continuously monitor employee timekeeping entries, looking for adherence to assigned work schedules and company policy
  • look for opportunities to increase revenue by providing additional billable project work
  • arrange for staff substitutions or personally perform work where employee absences could impact timely completion of contracted work
