The Account Manager role in the Live and Virtual Events Department is a critical position responsible for driving new business opportunities and nurturing existing client relationships. This full-time role centers on expanding Visual Sound's customer base by engaging with potential clients and securing contracts that align with the company's growth objectives. The position requires a proactive and strategic individual who is adept at prospecting, client meetings, and crafting tailored sales proposals to meet client needs while contributing to the division's revenue goals.
The Account Manager will play a vital role in supporting the division's growth by acquiring venues through preferred or exclusive contracts, including collaborations with hotels, special event venues, and educational institutions. This strategic venue acquisition is essential for positioning Visual Sound as a preferred partner in the event production industry. The role also involves meticulous coordination with internal teams to ensure the seamless execution of sales orders and job details, fostering clear and timely communication between sales and technical staff.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- minimum of 3 years sales experience in event production or audiovisual services
- demonstrated ability to generate new business and meet sales targets
- excellent organizational and time management skills
- willingness to travel within the Mid-Atlantic region for client meetings and site visits
- strong negotiation and closing skills
- ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Duties
- Contacting/prospecting and meeting with clients
- preparing sales proposals
- securing contracts in the Mid-Atlantic region
- supporting the growth of the division through acquisition of venues via preferred or exclusive contracts and agreements
- providing an accurate and timely submittal of sales orders and job notes to appropriate order processing and technical staff
- maintaining a healthy pipeline at all times that ensures achievement of established revenue targets
- attending site visits, pre-conference planning meetings, and appropriate venue meetings as necessary to support the customer event experience
- attending industry functions including tradeshows, networking events and forums
- meeting or exceeding all company sales goals and objectives as it relates to this position
- understanding event cost structure and incorporate this according to established profitability guidelines
- identifying and securing exclusive and preferred status agreements with venues
- collaborating with senior management through the sales and contracting phase
