Job Description
St. Andrew's School is a respected independent educational institution known for its commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment. The school emphasizes a holistic approach to education, blending academic excellence with extracurricular enrichment opportunities that cultivate student growth in diverse areas. St. Andrew's Auxiliary programs play a vital role in this mission by offering structured after-school care and dynamic school-year day camps that enhance the student experience beyond standard classroom hours. These programs are designed not only to provide safe supervision for students but also to enrich their social, creative, and academic development through thoughtfully planned activities and curricula.
The role of Auxiliary Programs Director at St. Andrew's is a full-time, twelve-month leadership position focused on providing operational oversight and strategic growth for the After School Care (ASC) and School Year Day Camps. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence the quality and scope of auxiliary programs that are integral to the St. Andrew's community's family-oriented culture. Operating within a professional school environment, the Auxiliary Programs Director will be responsible for the continuous improvement of staffing processes, program management, and the expansion of the Day Camp program into a premier, revenue-generating enterprise known as the "Saints Experience."
The director will lead all aspects of the After School Care program, including the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and daily scheduling of part-time staff and enrichment instructors. A key component of the role involves designing and implementing training initiatives focused on Responsive Classroom principles and safety protocols to ensure that staff deliver a nurturing, mission-aligned experience for students. The director will maintain hands-on supervision of students and staff during all ASC operational hours to guarantee a high standard of care and engagement.
In addition to managing day-to-day operations, the Auxiliary Programs Director will spearhead the strategic growth of the School Year Day Camps. This entails identifying new calendar dates for school-out days to increase program offerings and revenue. The director will innovate camp curricula with premium elements such as off-campus field trips, guest speakers, and advanced art or STEM projects to elevate the camp's appeal and educational value. Collaborating closely with the Marketing department, the director will assist in branding efforts and the execution of a marketing strategy aimed at expanding camp capacity and attendance. Utilizing data analysis, the director will track participation trends to guide continuous improvement and revenue optimization.
Operational responsibilities also extend to managing registration, scheduling, and logistics for Fall and Spring enrichment classes, as well as overseeing transportation services like the Morning Inter-campus Shuttle and providing supervision for athletic events and other auxiliary activities. Serving as the primary liaison for parents, the director will address program-related inquiries and concerns, ensuring clear and consistent communication. Mastery of technology tools such as G Suite, CampSite software, and Paycom will support efficient management of program data, payroll, and attendance tracking.
This role demands a hands-on leader with excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, capable of juggling multiple complex projects effectively without constant oversight. The position requires occasional evening and weekend work to support events and program operations. Physical requirements include the ability to walk for extended periods and lift up to 20 pounds.
To qualify for this role, candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree and have three to five years of experience managing summer or auxiliary programs, preferably within an independent school setting. Proficiency in camp management software, such as CampSite, and expertise in G Suite are essential. This is an ideal position for a motivated individual dedicated to enhancing auxiliary educational programs and creating memorable, enriching experiences for students and families within a vibrant school community.
