This position is located at the Elk Grove facility at 8185 East Stockton Blvd, Sacramento, California. The role offered is a full-time, PM shift position from Monday to Friday, 3 PM to 12 AM. CarMax is offering an attractive $10,000 sign-on bonus for external applicants and compensates at an hourly rate of $49.88. The Mechanical Associate role is critical in upholding CarMax’s high standards for vehicle safety, reliability, and performance. This role goes beyond just repairing cars; it restores customer confidence in their purchased vehicles. Successful candidates will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and reconditioning a wide range of vehicles, including both domestic and foreign models, with a particular focus on engines, brakes, steering, suspension, and HVAC systems. Associates work collaboratively with a skilled team to address technical challenges swiftly and effectively, ensuring vehicles meet stringent quality and safety benchmarks before reaching the customer.

Excellent communication skills and a keen attention to detail are essential in delivering outstanding service and maintaining trust with customers. A valid driver’s license is also mandatory for this role.
