The role of Automotive Service Porter at Fowler Kia of Windsor is designed for individuals who are detail-oriented, motivated, and possess excellent customer service skills. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the high standards of vehicle care and presentation that Fowler Automotive is known for. The Service Porter assists by moving customer vehicles safely to and from service areas, ensuring thorough cleaning and preparation of both service and display vehicles, and assisting in the upkeep of the dealership grounds. Job Requirements
- Valid driver's license and MVR acceptable to our insurance carrier
- Ability to regularly walk
- Use hands and arms to handle, feel and reach
- Frequently stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to talk and hear
- Occasionally sit and taste or smell
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One to three months related experience and/or training
- Experience in the automotive industry is a plus but not required
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
Job Duties
- Drives customer vehicles to and from service lane, service stalls, and parking lot as needed
- Drive vehicles through car wash
- Cleans driveway and sidewalks, removing snow and debris as necessary
- General cleanup of vehicles after service work is completed
- Parks vehicles in the vehicle lot in an orderly manner
- Maintains showroom and stock vehicles in clean and presentable condition at all times
- Washes and prepares new and used vehicles for lot display
