Fowler Jeep of Boulder is currently seeking an Automotive Service Porter who is detailed, task-oriented, motivated, and customer service-minded. This role is essential to the smooth operation of the service department, helping to facilitate vehicle movement, maintain cleanliness, and enhance the overall customer experience. The position is hourly, with a starting wage of $20.00 per clock hour, and offers a variety of benefits including medical, vision, dental, life, and disability insurance, as well as a 401K employer matching plan and paid time off. As an Automotive Service Porter at Fowler Jeep of Boulder, you will play a vital role in supporting the service department by driving customer vehicles to and from service bays and parking areas, ensuring vehicles are clean and ready for the next customer, and maintaining the dealership’s grounds. This includes operating the car wash, removing snow and debris, and organizing the vehicle lot in an orderly manner. The role requires physical stamina and the ability to lift and move vehicles and equipment. It also demands good communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members and ensure the highest standards of customer service are maintained.

Job Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and MVR acceptable to our insurance carrier
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Capability to perform tasks requiring walking standing climbing balancing stooping kneeling crouching or crawling
  • Good vision including close distance color peripheral depth perception and focus adjustment
  • Effective communication skills
  • Able to meet physical demands of the job

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • One to three months related experience and/or training
  • Experience in the automotive industry is a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings
  • Good physical condition and ability to perform physically demanding tasks

Job Duties

  • Drive customer vehicles to and from service lane service stalls and parking lot as needed
  • Drive vehicles through car wash
  • Clean driveway and sidewalks removing snow and debris as necessary
  • General cleanup of vehicles after service work is completed
  • Park vehicles in the vehicle lot in an orderly manner
  • Maintain showroom and stock vehicles in clean and presentable condition at all times
  • Wash and prepare new and used vehicles for lot display
