The Service Advisor position at Blain's Farm & Fleet plays a critical role in ensuring smooth and efficient automotive services while delivering outstanding customer service. This full-time role requires a candidate who can assist customers with their purchases and automotive service needs in a sales-focused and customer-oriented environment. One of the primary responsibilities is managing the service workflow by using computer systems like the VAST system to check product inventories, schedule and set up work orders, and communicate effectively with the service department. The Service Advisor will also be responsible for explaining work orders and invoices to customers, performing retail cashier duties, and handling sales transactions. Additionally, the role involves hands-on tasks such as installing batteries, balancing wheels, repairing or installing tires, and performing oil changes following standard LOF procedures. Candidates will also be trained to achieve Level I status, demonstrating proficiency and competence in automotive service operations.

Blain's Farm & Fleet offers competitive compensation, including a base pay up to $20.00 per hour with additional weekend premium pay of $2.50 per hour for Saturday and Sunday shifts. Associates hired full-time will become eligible for a comprehensive benefits package after 90 days of employment, which includes medical, dental, vision, prescription coverage, short and long-term disability, life insurance, identity theft protection, pet insurance, and other ancillary benefits. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • must be 18 years of age or older
  • ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks
  • ability to read and speak English
  • good communication skills
  • prior auto repair experience preferred
  • prior retail experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Assist customers with their purchases in a customer service and sales focused environment
  • utilize computers to determine product inventory levels and product arrival dates
  • utilize computers and VAST system to set up work orders for customers, schedule service work and communicate to the service department

  • perform retail cashier duties by obtaining and processing customer payments
  • install batteries, balance wheels, repair and install tires when required
  • perform oil changes using LOF procedures when required
  • demonstrate awareness and compliance with loss prevention and safety policies and procedures
  • ability to interpret vehicle inspection results and make appropriate service recommendations to customers
