The Service Advisor role at Blain’s Farm & Fleet is focused on delivering outstanding automotive services while ensuring exemplary customer interactions. This position requires the associate to assist customers with purchases in a retail sales environment emphasizing both customer service and sales. Service Advisors will be trained to achieve Level I status, highlighting the company’s commitment to ongoing employee development through advanced leadership training programs. The role blends technical automotive service knowledge with retail service functions, such as explaining work orders, managing invoices, setting up work orders via computer systems, and performing basic automotive maintenance tasks. Additionally, Service Advisors will engage in retail cashier duties and customer payment processing.

Compensation for this role includes a base pay of up to $17.75 per hour with additional weekend premium pay for Saturday and Sunday of $2.50 per hour. The pay may vary depending on candidates’ experience and training. As a critical link between the service department and customers, the Service Advisor is expected to maintain compliance with safety and loss prevention policies. The position also offers internal recognition programs to encourage an engaged workplace atmosphere. Benefits become available to full-time associates after 90 days, including medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, and additional protections such as identity theft and pet insurance.   • Prior auto repair experience is preferred

Job Duties

  • Assist customers with their purchases in a customer service and sales focused environment
  • Utilize computers to determine product inventory levels and product arrival dates
  • Utilize computers and VAST system to set up work orders for customers, schedule service work and communicate to the service department
  • Explain work orders and invoices to customers
  • Perform retail cashier duties by obtaining and processing customer payments
  • Install batteries, balance wheels, repair and install tires when required
  • Perform oil changes using LOF procedures when required
  • Demonstrate awareness and compliance with Loss Prevention and safety policies and procedures
  • Ability to interpret vehicle inspection results and make appropriate service recommendations to customers
