We are currently seeking a reliable and motivated Porter to join our team. This entry-level position holds tremendous growth potential as it serves as the foundation for other skilled roles within our organization. The Porter will play a critical role in ensuring smooth daily operations by transporting vehicles, tools, parts, and equipment to assigned locations. This role demands a professional who is customer-service oriented and capable of effective communication with the field team to maximize operational productivity and efficiency.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for performing test drives of vehicles following repairs or Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) calibrations, ensuring the safety and reliability of all vehicles before customer return. Additionally, the position involves transporting customers as needed during the repair process, presenting an excellent opportunity to interact directly with clients and enhance their experience.
Porters may be required to clean vehicles and perform other duties assigned by field leadership, making this a diverse and dynamic role within the Protech Automotive team. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have a valid driver's license and ability to pass MVR check
- Ability to pass a background check
- Must be able to lift 60 pounds independently
- Travel may be required for continuing education and certification training
- Requires standing for extended periods of time with frequent stretching, reaching, walking, and stooping
- Requires frequent driving of company and customer vehicles
- Extensive travel within assigned area is expected
- May have exposure to fumes, dust, and chemicals
- Ability to work in a shop environment in inclement weather
- Required to wear PPE to include but not limited to facial covering, eye protection, gloves
Job Qualifications
- Desire to learn a skilled trade
- High school diploma or tech school graduate
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Knowledge and ability to use computers, mobile devices, and related technology efficiently
- Self-motivated, positive attitude, with a customer focused vision
Job Duties
- Customer service oriented
- Communicate with field team to ensure efficiency and productivity
- Test drive vehicles after repair and/or ADAS calibrations
- Transport vehicles, tools, and/or customers as needed during repair process
- Vehicle clean up may be required
