The role of the Porter at Gerber Collision & Glass is pivotal in complementing the quality repairs provided by the company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and presentation of customer vehicles prior to their delivery, maintaining both the shop and office facilities' neatness and order, and supporting the overall shop operation. The Porter’s duties encompass critical aspects such as pre-washing vehicles before repairs commence, performing interior and exterior clean-up after services are complete, and managing the transportation of vehicles to external repair locations when necessary. Attention to detail and adherence to the WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan is essential to maintain exceptional service standards.

This full-time hourly position offers compensation ranging from $16 to $19 per hour, based on skill, education, and experience, with additional bonus opportunities tied to individual or business initiatives. Job Duties

  • ensure consistent execution of wow (wow operating way) plan
  • maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the office including emptying garbage cans cleaning floors and dusting countertops and work area
  • maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the production area including emptying waste cans sweeping floors disposing of unwanted vehicle parts and placing tools and equipment in their proper location
  • maintain parking lots and grounds in a neat and orderly fashion including shoveling sidewalks when necessary
  • pre-wash customer vehicles prior to repairs beginning
  • perform exterior and interior cleanup of customer vehicles after repairs are complete
  • transport customer vehicles to sublet locations for repairs
