At Gerber Collision & Glass, the Porter role is a vital position that directly supports the customer experience and operational efficiency. This role is designed for individuals passionate about attention to detail, maintaining clean and safe work environments, and delivering a WOW customer experience by ensuring every vehicle they handle is in pristine condition before and after service. As a Porter, you will be integral to the coordination of vehicle preparation, cleanliness, and logistics on the shop floor and surroundings. You will be responsible for pre-washing vehicles before repairs, thoroughly cleaning interiors and exteriors after service completion, and ensuring the shop and office spaces are maintained to high standards of cleanliness and organization.
This role requires a proactive approach to housekeeping the production area, disposing of unwanted parts, and properly organizing tools and equipment to support the seamless operation of technicians and office staff. Additional responsibilities include maintaining parking lots and grounds, including snow removal during winter months to ensure facility safety and accessibility. Transporting customer vehicles securely to sublet locations for specific repairs highlights the trust and responsibility placed in the Porter role.

Job Duties
- Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan
- Maintain daily housekeeping of the interior office including emptying garbage cans, cleaning floors, and dusting countertops
- Maintain daily housekeeping of the production area by emptying waste cans, sweeping floors, disposing of unwanted vehicle parts, and organizing tools and equipment
- Maintain parking lots and grounds in a neat and orderly fashion including shoveling sidewalks when necessary
- Pre-wash customer vehicles prior to repairs beginning
- Perform exterior and interior cleanup of customer vehicles after repairs are complete
- Transport customer vehicles to sublet locations for repairs
