The Porter role at Gerber Collision & Glass focuses on complementing the quality repair process by maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of customer vehicles both before and after repairs. This position is essential in upholding the company’s WOW (Wow Operating Way) culture, ensuring every customer interaction begins and ends with a vehicle that reflects the highest standards of care. Candidates will be responsible for keeping the shop and office environment orderly, performing tasks such as emptying garbage, cleaning floors, dusting counter spaces, and maintaining the organization of tools and equipment. This role also extends outside to maintaining parking lots and grounds, including snow removal when necessary.
Porters play a vital role in customer satisfaction by pre-washing vehicles before repairs and thoroughly cleaning them once repairs are completed. Additional responsibilities include transporting vehicles to and from sublet locations for repairs, which requires valid driver’s licensing and a high level of reliability. This role demands strong attention to detail, the ability to multitask, and physical stamina as it involves lifting, walking, standing, and other physical activities. Gerber Collision & Glass offers an hourly wage ranging from $15.50 to $18.50, commensurate with skill, education, and experience. Job Duties
- Ensure consistent execution of wow (wow operating way) plan
- Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the office, including daily emptying of garbage cans, cleaning the floors, and dusting the countertops and work area
- Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the production area, emptying of waste cans, sweeping the floors, disposing of unwanted vehicle parts, and placing tools and equipment in their proper location
- Maintain parking lots and grounds in a neat and orderly fashion, including shoveling sidewalks when necessary
- Pre-wash customer vehicles prior to repairs beginning
- Exterior and interior cleanup of customer vehicles after repairs are complete
- Transport of customer vehicles to sublet locations for repairs
