At Gerber Collision & Glass, the available role of Porter plays a vital part in complementing the quality of repairs by maintaining customer vehicles and shop facilities in impeccable condition. This position focuses on preparing vehicles before and after repair, ensuring they meet the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation before delivery to customers. Additionally, the Porter is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in both office and production areas, which includes routine housekeeping tasks such as emptying trash, sweeping floors, dusting, and organizing tools and equipment. The job also involves caring for exterior maintenance of the property, including parking lots and sidewalks, which may extend to seasonal duties like shoveling snow. Apart from facility upkeep, the Porter handles customer vehicle transportation to sublet locations for outsourced repair services.
This hourly role offers competitive pay ranging from $17 to $24 per hour, based on skills, education, and experience. Job Duties
- Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan
- Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the office, including daily emptying of garbage cans, cleaning the floors, and dusting the countertops and work area
- Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the production area, emptying of waste cans, sweeping the floors, disposing of unwanted vehicle parts, and placing tools and equipment in their proper location
- Maintain parking lots and grounds in a neat and orderly fashion, including shoveling sidewalks when necessary
- Pre-wash customer vehicles prior to repairs beginning
- Exterior and interior cleanup of customer vehicles after repairs are complete
- Transport customer vehicles to sublet locations for repairs
