The role of Delivery Driver at LKQ Corporation is critical in ensuring the efficient and safe delivery of automotive parts to customers. This position is responsible for operating a company vehicle in a careful and responsible manner while handing all aspects of the delivery process. This includes manually loading and unloading delivery trucks, verifying parts and paperwork, collecting payments, and obtaining signatures from receiving locations to confirm order accuracy. The driver also handles the return of items to company locations. Not only does this job demand strong driving skills and adherence to safety and regulatory standards, but it also requires excellent customer service abilities to maintain positive relationships during delivery and pickup interactions. As part of their responsibilities, the driver must comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations and complete all required annual trainings. This role typically requires at least one year of related driving experience and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Job Requirements
- Possess a valid driver’s license and safe driving record
- Must qualify for corporate insurance programs, including vehicle insurance
- Must meet Department of Transportation (DOT) testing and physical requirements and be knowledgeable of DOT regulations
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must comply with state and local mandated requirements as well as Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations
- 1+ years of experience required
Job Qualifications
- No degree required
- 1+ years of driving experience preferred
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
- Basic computer skills including use of Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
- Good physical condition to perform loading and unloading tasks
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
Job Duties
- Drive a company vehicle in a safe, courteous, and responsible manner avoiding traffic violations and accidents
- Physically load company truck at the location and verify the condition of the truck, the manifest, and other paperwork associated with the deliveries to be made
- Drive to the delivery destination and physically unload the truck, verify parts unloaded, obtain signature of receiving location, confirming the accuracy of parts shown on the order and those received, and sign off on the integrity of what was loaded at the location
- Make proper notations on the manifest and provide receipts on parts being returned from customers to the location
- Collect accounts receivable, as necessary
- Comply with established company policies and procedures
- Successful completion of annual training as assigned
- Operate in compliance with applicable rules and regulations set forth by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration
- Provide excellent customer service during delivery/pick up of products
- Assume other duties as assigned
