Job Description

LaFontaine Automotive Group is a reputable and nationally recognized automotive dealership group founded in 1980 by Michael Sr. and Maureen LaFontaine. Over the past four decades, LaFontaine has expanded considerably, currently operating 54 retail franchises, 9 collision centers, and 34 retail locations throughout Michigan, employing nearly 2,500 individuals. LaFontaine is distinguished not only by its vast network and variety of automotive brands, including Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, Fiat, Genesis, Honda, Hyundai, Jeep, KIA, Lincoln, Mazda, RAM, Polestar, Subaru, Toyota, Volvo, and Volkswagen, but also by its unwavering commitment to customer service, community involvement, and employee development. At LaFontaine, the mission is clear: to build lifelong relationships that connect families, strengthen communities, and personalize the automotive experience. This is accomplished by fostering a family-like atmosphere where every customer is treated with respect and care, matching the high standards of the company’s core values such as accountability, responsibility, respect, communication, teamwork, and passion.

The role of Automotive Lot Porter at LaFontaine Automotive Group is a fundamental position within the company, crucial for maintaining the appearance and organization of the new and used vehicle lots. This position is ideal for individuals who are motivated, have a strong work ethic, and take pride in ensuring the vehicle inventory is clean, orderly, and ready for customer viewing. The Lot Porter will be responsible for various duties, including keeping new and used vehicle lots neat and orderly by moving cars as directed by management, cleaning vehicles both inside and out, policing the dealership grounds, and following all company policies and procedures. Wearing company-approved uniforms and completing tasks independently or as part of a team are also important aspects of this role.

This full-time position offers a competitive compensation package along with diverse benefits that support the well-being of employees, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, employer-paid life and AD&D coverage, employee assistance programs, and pet insurance options. Additional benefits include voluntary coverage choices such as flexible spending accounts, short-term and long-term disability insurance, and critical illness and accident insurance. Employees also enjoy participation in a 401(k) plan with employer match, holiday savings programs, paid time off, holiday pay, and employee discount programs for sales and services. LaFontaine consistently fosters an inspiring company culture that prioritizes internal promotion, environmental responsibility, and active engagement with the community and local charities, making it an excellent employer for individuals looking to build a rewarding career in the automotive industry.
