The role of Automotive Assistant Manager at American Tire Depot is a dynamic leadership position integral to the daily operations and success of the store. This position involves leading from the front by overseeing store opening and closing procedures, setting daily operational plans, and ensuring the shop remains safe, clean, and efficient. An Automotive Assistant Manager will own the guest experience by greeting customers, advising on their automotive needs, building accurate estimates, clearly explaining the necessary work, and confidently closing sales. Acting as a vital bridge between technicians and customers, the Assistant Manager will translate technical inspections into trusted, understandable recommendations. A critical aspect of this role is team development, which involves coaching both advisors and technicians, reinforcing processes, celebrating achievements, and addressing any performance gaps. Running the business also falls under the Assistant Manager's responsibilities, including inventory management, ordering parts and supplies, handling cash and point-of-sale systems, scheduling, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), and ensuring compliance with OSHA and Environmental Health and Safety standards. Moreover, the Automotive Assistant Manager is expected to cover shifts in the absence of the Store Manager and consistently model elite standards in every operational aspect of the store. Job Requirements

  • At least 1-3 years of experience in automotive service management or retail repair leadership
  • Strong background in service sales covering tires, brakes, maintenance or mechanical
  • Proven leadership skills in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving capabilities
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to lift 70 lbs
  • Self-motivated with a focus on accountability and growth
  • Availability to work weekends and peak business hours

Job Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in automotive service management or retail repair leadership
  • Strong background in service sales including tires, brakes, maintenance or mechanical
  • Proven ability to lead a team in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs
  • Self-starter with a strong focus on results, accountability, and growth
  • Open availability including weekends
