The role available at RAUCH is that of an Automation and Controls Technician, a vital position within the manufacturing environment. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Waddell, AZ, with a competitive pay starting at $40.00 per hour. The candidate will join a professional and experienced team, benefiting from structured onboarding and ongoing professional training. This position involves maintaining safe and secure working conditions, troubleshooting and upgrading manufacturing control systems such as PLCs, VFDs, HMI interfaces, and computer controls, all to support continuous manufacturing process improvements and factory initiatives. The technician actively participates in safety inspections, accident investigations, and corrective actions to uphold the company’s stringent safety standards.

The job requires designing control systems, preparing technical documentation like drawings, P&IDs, specifications, and scopes of work. Maintaining and revising automated system documentation is essential, along with upgrading control systems to maximize efficiency, improve reliability, and reduce operational costs. Close collaboration with maintenance personnel is expected to support troubleshooting, testing, installation, and modification of electrical equipment and controls. An advanced understanding of network communications and the ability to resolve outages or communication issues are also key aspects of the role.

Hands-on involvement with industrial equipment is necessary, including repairing and maintaining high-speed packaging and processing machinery to ensure continuous operation and minimize downtime. The technician will work on components such as switches, sensors, motors, conveyors, ovens, robotics, and blending operations. They will also perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical and control systems, calibrate instrumentation, and handle emergency procedures effectively. The role demands compliance with environmental regulations, particularly regarding hazardous materials and waste.
