The role of Porter at Gerber Collision & Glass is integral to the smooth operation of the collision repair shop and customer satisfaction. As a Porter, you will be responsible for enhancing the customer experience through the meticulous cleaning and detailing of vehicles before and after repairs. This role involves maintaining the overall cleanliness and organization of the shop and office facilities to create a welcoming environment for both customers and staff. Duties include daily housekeeping tasks such as emptying garbage, sweeping floors, dusting, managing waste disposal, and organizing tools and equipment. Additionally, the Porter ensures outdoor areas including parking lots and sidewalks are kept tidy and safe with duties like snow removal when necessary. This position requires physically active work including vehicle transport to sublet locations, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Job Duties
- Ensure consistent execution of WOW Operating Way plan
- Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the office including emptying garbage cans, cleaning floors, and dusting countertops and work areas
- Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the production area including waste disposal, sweeping floors, and organizing tools and equipment
- Maintain parking lots and grounds in neat and orderly fashion including shoveling sidewalks when necessary
- Pre-wash customer vehicles prior to repairs beginning
- Perform exterior and interior cleanup of customer vehicles after repairs are complete
- Transport customer vehicles to sublet locations for repairs
