The Porter role at Gerber Collision & Glass plays a crucial part in maintaining the high standards of customer satisfaction and facility management. This position focuses on ensuring that customer vehicles are impeccably cleaned before delivery and that both the shop and office areas are maintained in a clean and orderly manner. The Porter supports the overall repair process by assisting with the movement and preparation of vehicles, contributing to the seamless operation of the production floor. Responsibilities include pre-washing vehicles, cleaning interiors and exteriors post-repair, maintaining the cleanliness of parking lots and grounds, and transporting vehicles to sublet locations for specialized repairs.
This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong multitasking abilities, and a proactive attitude toward maintaining workplace sanitation and safety. The ideal candidate will have some automotive experience along with a commitment to upholding the WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan set by the company to enhance customer experience continuously. Job Requirements
- 18 years of age or older
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pull, push, carry
- Ability to walk 5 plus hours
- Ability to sit
- Ability to stand 5 plus hours
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and or crawl one plus hours
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Withstand exposure to working near moving mechanical parts
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to multitask effectively
- Automotive experience preferred
- Clear close vision required
- Strong attention to detail

Job Duties
- Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan
- Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the office including emptying garbage cans, cleaning floors, dusting countertops and work areas
- Maintain the daily housekeeping of the production area including emptying waste cans, sweeping floors, disposing unwanted vehicle parts, placing tools and equipment in proper location
- Maintain parking lots and grounds in neat orderly fashion including shoveling sidewalks when necessary
- Pre-wash customer vehicles prior to repairs beginning
- Perform exterior and interior cleanup of customer vehicles after repairs completion
- Transport customer vehicles to sublet locations for repairs
