The Auro Pastry Chef position is a critical role within this esteemed resort, reporting directly to the Auro Executive Chef. This role entails the creation of high-quality pastry dishes that complement the fine dining experience at Auro, contributing to the restaurant's reputation for culinary excellence. Responsibilities include managing daily kitchen operations, overseeing staff, assisting with menu preparation, maintaining food quality and freshness, and managing inventory and ordering processes. The position requires strong leadership to inspire and develop the pastry team while ensuring superior quality and consistency in food preparation.

Candidates benefiting from a $1,000 signing bonus, paid in two installments, will be expected to lead with creativity and precision. The Pastry Chef will collaborate closely with the Executive Chef on menu creation, integrating seasonal ingredients and culinary trends to craft sophisticated desserts that enhance a tasting menu format. Essential duties include managing labor and operating costs with effective scheduling and budgeting, organizing and leading events, and maintaining impeccable sanitation and food safety standards.

This full-time role demands flexibility for early, mid-day, and evening shifts to support 24/7 operational needs. Salary ranges between $80,000 and $83,000 based on experience, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package including medical and dental options, 401k retirement plan, parental leave pay, competitive wages, and opportunities for professional growth. Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Manage all day-to-day operations of the pastry/bakery section of the kitchen
  • Oversee prep, plating, and timely service of all pastry items during service
  • Manage team members in the kitchen to attract, retain and motivate employees while providing a safe environment
  • Hire, train, develop, empower, coach, and counsel team members
  • Conduct performance reviews and resolve problems
  • Lead the execution and development of all pastry and dessert components for the tasting menu
  • Collaborate with Executive Chef on menu creation incorporating seasonal ingredients and culinary trends
  • Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, ordering, budgeting, purchasing, and inventory control
  • Manage procurement and ordering processes ensuring accuracy and vendor consistency
  • Use systems to manage labor and payroll
  • Organize and lead restaurant events including buyouts, outside catering, and holiday activations
  • Work with other departments and clients to discuss upcoming events and outline culinary deliverables
  • Communicate and collaborate with restaurant managers to meet guest expectations
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation standards and maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen
  • Maintain quality and portion consistency
  • Monitor food shipments to meet purchasing specifications
  • Control food cost by creative menu planning and minimizing waste
  • Comply with Four Seasons' work rules and standards of conduct
  • Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors
