The Audio Visual Project Manager plays a pivotal role at Marx Productions by overseeing live event projects from conceptual planning to final execution. This full-time salaried position located in Orlando, Florida requires travel and immediate availability. The role serves as the primary point of contact for clients, coordinating the technical and logistical facets of event production to ensure seamless delivery. The successful candidate will lead on-site teams comprising employees and subcontractors, manage show schedules, and carefully track labor and resource usage to optimize event performance while adhering to safety and technical standards. Responsibilities include managing project timelines, communicating detailed production plans, conducting kickoff meetings, reviewing sales documents to align technical solutions with client needs, and assisting sales and operations teams with equipment and technical diagram creation.
During events, the Audio Visual Project Manager maintains visibility and control over all phases of execution including load-ins, show operation, and load-outs, adapting quickly to changes and troubleshooting issues on-site. They uphold compliance with technical and production standards while ensuring client satisfaction through direct communication and post-event debriefing. Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- manage live event projects from concept through completion, ensuring timelines, client expectations, and quality standards are met
- prepare and communicate technical production schedules, project scope, and execution plans to internal teams, vendors, and venue partners
- identify project resource needs and coordinate with internal departments to ensure requirements are clearly communicated and fulfilled
- serve as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, venue partners, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle
- monitor project scope throughout planning and execution, escalating changes through established internal procedures
- lead project kickoff meetings with sales, technical, and client teams
- review sales documents to help confirm equipment plans and technical positions align with client needs
- assist sales and operations teams in determining equipment needs and technical solutions
- assist with the creation of technical diagrams when required
- provide leadership and direction to Associate Project Managers on multi-PM supported events
- collaborate with operations, inventory control, warehouse, and technical teams to support accurate project execution
- lead on-site crews and manage execution schedules for employees and subcontractors throughout the event
- oversee load-ins, setup, run of show, and load-outs
- act as the on-site project leader and primary client contact throughout the event
- manage all phases of technical execution from load-in through show operation to load-out
- direct on-site adjustments involving crew deployment, timing, equipment usage, and workflow as event conditions change
- maintain visibility into equipment and execution needs throughout the event and communicate changes to the appropriate internal teams
- ensure compliance with established technical and production standards
- follow up with clients on-site to confirm needs are met and equipment is operating properly
- participate in post-event debriefs to evaluate performance and identify opportunities for improvement
- track on-site labor hours, breaks, and overtime for employees and subcontractors during event execution
- communicate labor overages, scope changes, schedule impacts, and other show-site issues to the appropriate internal teams in a timely manner
- complete post-event reporting and confirm project-related details needed for internal closeout
- document on-site changes involving labor, schedule, equipment, or scope to support internal reconciliation and billing
- participate in the development and continuous improvement of project management SOPs
- conduct review and analysis of proposed events as needed
