Job Description

CarMax is a leading used vehicle retailer committed to providing a transparent and customer-friendly car buying experience. Established as a nationwide brand with numerous locations across the United States, CarMax is recognized for its innovative approach to vehicle sales and auction services. The company operates as a technology-driven retailer, leveraging modern platforms and auction systems to enhance vehicle inventory management and wholesale processes. At CarMax locations such as the Las Vegas Auction Center, associates play an essential role in maintaining high standards of vehicle preparation, inventory accuracy, and customer service. CarMax is dedicated to fostering a collaborative work environment, diversity, and equal opportunity employment, ensuring that all associates have the support and resources they need to succeed.

The role of Auction Services Associate at CarMax’s Las Vegas Auction Center located at 3426 Losee Road, Las Vegas, Nevada, is designed for motivated individuals who thrive in fast-paced and dynamic work settings. This position operates under general supervision and focuses on multiple key areas including vehicle receiving, inventory scanning, reconciliation, and asset protection. Associates in this role are responsible for zone maintenance and ensuring vehicles are prepared to the highest standards for sale. Moreover, they contribute significantly to vehicle movement both on and off the lot, guaranteeing a seamless auction service process. This role is critical in supporting the auction functions by participating in vehicle transfers, wholesale reconditioning, and assisting in the selling of inventory through auction systems and simulcast platforms. The Auction Services Associate also plays an important part in customer interaction, providing exceptional service to both internal teams and external customers.

Working in this capacity requires adherence to standardized work practices, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and supporting new associate training initiatives. This position also offers opportunities to engage in specialized areas such as gas reclamation processes once certification is achieved. The role is physically demanding, requiring the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and involves a blend of office and outdoor work environments that may include exposure to inclement weather and noisy conditions. Flexibility in work hours is necessary, with shifts that might include nights, weekends, and holidays. This position demands strong multitasking skills, keen inventory management capabilities, and the willingness to acquire thorough knowledge of wholesale and inventory procedures. Success in this role contributes to the overall efficiency and quality assurance of the CarMax auction operations, making it a vital component of the company’s retail and wholesale vehicle business strategy.
