Job Description
Auction.com is the nation’s leading online real estate marketplace, known for connecting buyers, sellers, and real estate professionals through innovative and accessible auction services. The company specializes in conducting live real estate auctions, traditionally held on courthouse steps across various counties, facilitating transparent and efficient property sales. Auction.com strives to create a platform where homes are more than just properties, turning houses into homes while supporting local communities. The organization is committed to providing professional growth opportunities, competitive compensation, and a dynamic work environment that values customer service excellence and technological integration.
As an Auction Coordinator I with Auction.com, you will be the vital face of the company, representing Auction.com during live auctions primarily held in Whatcom, Skagit, Island, and Snohomish counties in Washington state. You will conduct, co-host, and participate in live auctions, managing the flow of the event with professionalism and efficiency. Your role involves interacting with bidders and ensuring that all auction-related processes are carried out smoothly, from collecting customer information using proprietary software to completing event reports and customer receipts. This position demands multitasking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain a high level of service quality in a fast-paced, often outdoor setting.
The position offers flexible hours with auctions typically occurring every Friday morning starting at 7:30 AM on courthouse steps, and you will be assigned weekly auctions or events based on the needs of your area and state manager. On average, you can expect to work 4-10 hours per week, though hours may fluctuate and are not guaranteed. This role also involves occasional travel within and possibly beyond your primary territory, with travel expenses or a rental car provided depending on mileage and scheduling. An initial training period ensures you build the competencies required for success, after which compensation may vary depending on your skills, experience, and location. The base pay starts at $22.00 per hour, complemented by a competitive benefits package including a 401k match and discretionary spot bonuses.
This role offers more than just a job; it provides an opportunity to engage closely with the community, educate potential buyers on auction participation, and develop a wide range of professional skills including communication, customer service, and technology use. As part of a supportive team, you’ll contribute to the strong reputation and growth of Auction.com while experiencing a unique work environment outside the traditional office setting. Regular training sessions, administrative support, and access to resources are available to help improve your skills and increase your earnings potential. This is an excellent position for individuals who thrive in dynamic environments, enjoy customer interaction, and seek flexible work schedules with meaningful impacts on local housing markets.
