Job Description
InterContinental Hotels & Resorts stands as the world's first and most global luxury hotel brand, with a history of pioneering international travel since the 1940s. As part of the IHG portfolio, InterContinental is renowned for its sophisticated service, luxurious accommodations, and commitment to creating inspiring experiences that offer guests a richer perspective on the world. The brand prides itself on being a symbol of cultural wisdom and international know-how, embedding diversity and passion for travel within its core values. Guests enjoy truly impressive surroundings complemented by top-tier amenities, with a focus on comfort, elegance, and personalized attention.
Working as a Room Attendant at InterContinental Hotels & Resorts means becoming part of a team dedicated to upholding these high standards by ensuring that every guest room and suite is impeccably clean, welcoming, and inviting. This role is pivotal in creating a sanctuary where guests can relax, recharge, or catch up on last-minute work after a busy day. The Room Attendant directly impacts the guest experience by maintaining the pristine condition of rooms while exhibiting attentiveness to details that make a stay memorable.
In this physical but rewarding role, attendants are expected to manage multiple responsibilities including cleaning rooms to the brand’s exacting standards, restocking amenities, and ensuring safety through adherence to established protocols. Room Attendants also show a helpful attitude by assisting guests with small requests, such as providing toiletries or directions, enhancing the overall hospitality experience. Communication is key, as attendants must keep supervisors informed about room turnover progress and any maintenance concerns.
The role requires fitness and physical endurance, with duties involving bending, kneeling, and occasionally lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds. Flexibility in work schedules is essential, with shifts potentially including nights, weekends, and holidays. Attendants take pride in their appearance by wearing the company uniform while fostering teamwork by coordinating with other departments to uphold quality service across the hotel. Additional tasks may include deep cleaning projects, turndown service, and handling lost and found items according to company protocols.
The position offers a competitive pay rate starting at $17.50 per hour, in a work environment that encourages growth and embraces global cultural exchange. Working for InterContinental means joining a global community with opportunities for career advancement and a chance to represent a legendary hospitality brand. Applicants who may not meet every qualification are encouraged to apply, as the hotel values diverse experiences and potential.
Overall, this role at InterContinental Hotels & Resorts is ideal for those passionate about hospitality, eager to contribute to a premier luxury experience, and ready for an active and engaging work environment.
