The position available is an Attendant role within the M Food Co. team, a critical component of the university’s residential dining services, which operate across its multiple campuses including the East Bank, West Bank, and St. Paul Campus. This role is designed to support the smooth operation of dining halls and retail food locations, ensuring that the university community enjoys a clean, well-maintained, and efficient dining environment. The attendant position is a 9-month appointment, typically running from August through May, with potential reductions in hours during academic breaks. This position falls under the Teamsters Bargaining Unit and may be designated as essential to campus operations.
Attendants are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the dining halls, including cleaning tables and chairs, replenishing food and beverages, and managing supplies and dishwashing stations. They also assist with food preparation and ensure that hygiene and safety standards are consistently met. Attendants play an important role in creating an inviting and safe atmosphere for students, faculty, and staff, contributing directly to the quality of their dining experience. The role demands physical stamina, including the ability to handle heavy lifting and maintain regular attendance. This position is not eligible for H-1B or Green Card sponsorship and does not offer a STEM OPT training program. Candidates applying for this role will undergo a background check and must pass a Food Safety test during the probationary period to continue employment.
