The dishwasher/attendant role is pivotal for ensuring the smooth operation of the food service area by maintaining high cleanliness levels and supporting food service tasks. This role requires the individual to perform a variety of duties including dishwashing, kitchen cleanliness, inventory management, food preparation support, and sanitation compliance. Key responsibilities include maintaining the sanitation and cleanliness of both the bistro and lakeview dining areas, ensuring the dishwasher and all kitchen utensils are properly cleaned and sanitized, managing inventory of beverage areas, rotating and dating food items to ensure freshness, and keeping food storage areas organized.
The role also involves routine cleaning tasks like emptying trash, keeping dumpster areas clean, sweeping and mopping kitchen floors, and cleaning various storage and food prep areas including coolers, freezers, ovens, vents, and windows. Safety practices such as placing "wet floor" signs during mopping are strictly followed. Additionally, the dishwasher/attendant supports the overall food and beverage department by covering other duties as needed. The position requires punctuality, attention to detail, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to communicate effectively with team members and customers. Job Duties
- Maintain sanitation and cleanliness of bistro and lakeview dining
- utilize standard procedures to provide consistent service to customers
- maintain inventory of bistro beverage area and rotate, date food items and stock all food items in area
- ensure all dishes and kitchen utensils are properly sanitized
- load and unload the dishwasher
- record sanitizer levels daily or as necessary
- report any equipment problems to the executive chef
- empty trash after each meal and keep dumpster area clean and ensure lids are closed
- keep kitchen floor clear of debris, sweep and mop after each meal and all food storage areas
- ensure a wet floor sign is in place during mopping
- clean all walls in chemical closet, dry storage, laundry room, cooler, and freezer
- remove ice and debris from shelves in cooler and freezer
- remove milk pallets and rubber mats for cleaning
- clean and organize paper and cleaning supply room weekly
- clean inside of windows monthly
- clean ovens once weekly by rotation
- clean vents every two weeks inside and out
- work as a team player with the food and beverage department adjusting duties to cover other assignments as necessary
- perform all other duties as assigned by the executive chef or supervisor
