The Food Service Manager position at Aramark represents a critical management role responsible for the development and implementation of dining solutions tailored to meet customer needs and preferences. This role involves overseeing and managing the dining operations within settings where customers order prepared foods from menus, such as cafeterias or residential dining facilities. The Food Service Manager works collaboratively with the Food Service Director to ensure smooth front-of-house operations, directing activities that deliver finished products meeting high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities of this position include leadership, client relationship management, financial performance, productivity, compliance, and additional operational tasks. The Food Service Manager is expected to use Aramark's coaching model to engage and develop team members, rewarding and recognizing employees for their contributions. Maintaining team and individual performance at optimized levels to meet objectives and client expectations is central to this role, along with overseeing daily team briefings to foster communication and alignment.

Financial oversight is a major aspect of the role, including the completion and maintenance of profit and loss statements, delivering on client and company financial targets, and adopting standard processes and systems to understand performance metrics and data trends. The Food Service Manager educates teams on key levers to improve margins and ensures operational excellence through efficient cost controls and profit management.

In addition, the role demands vigilance in maintaining safety and sanitation standards, ensuring compliance with all policies and regulations related to safety, health, wage, and hour laws. The role also requires hands-on supervision overseeing production, quality, and control of food service activities.

This position demands strong interpersonal skills, the ability to maintain effective client and customer rapport, and collaboration across departments to ensure a unified food service experience. Physical requirements include the capability to occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds, and the stamina to stand for extended periods.

  • Lead the front of the house dining operation in conjunction with the Food Service Director
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate food service activities to deliver finished products to customers
