Job Description
The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is a world-renowned public research university known for its commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and fostering community engagement. As a key institution in higher education, UCLA offers a dynamic environment where a diverse staff works collaboratively to uphold the university's mission. Among various departments, the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics plays a crucial role in supporting and promoting university sports programs, enhancing student and community engagement through athletic events.
Within this framework, the Central Ticket Office operates as an essential unit responsible for managing ticket sales and distribution for athletic events. This office ensures a seamless experience for patrons, sponsors, alumni, and university affiliates attending Olympic Sports events and other athletic competitions sponsored by UCLA. The Central Ticket Office coordinates closely with various departments including event management, marketing, and development teams to provide efficient ticketing services and maintain customer satisfaction.
The Events Specialist 2 position is integral to the success of the Central Ticket Office. Reporting directly to the Assistant Director - Athletics, the individual in this role serves as the primary “point” person for ticket operations related to Olympic Sports events. This position holds overarching responsibility for day-to-day ticket sales and distribution, ensuring all ticketing activities align with NCAA rules and university policies. The role demands active collaboration with athletic department event managers to secure all necessary event details for successful ticket fulfillment. The Events Specialist 2 is not only involved in ticket sales but also engages in marketing, promotion, and strategic efforts designed to maximize attendance and revenue.
In addition to managing ticketing logistics, this role acts as one of two primary contacts for ticketing system database coordination. Key responsibilities include uploading and managing customer lists, generating targeted solicitation lists for phone and email campaigns, assigning leads to sales representatives, and maintaining the integrity of customer-sales representative data relationships. Crucially, the incumbent supports data integration between the ticketing system and UCLA’s Development CRM system, facilitating stronger fundraising and supporter engagement through accurate data management.
Compensation for this full-time staff career position ranges from $29.17 to $30.65 hourly, with a full salary range extending up to $56.37 hourly, reflecting factors such as prior experience, skills, education, and business considerations. The role is fully onsite at UCLA’s Westwood Plaza Central Ticket Office, operating Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to manage competing demands, and a comprehensive understanding of event ticketing systems and NCAA regulations.
This is an excellent opportunity for detail-oriented professionals passionate about sports management, data coordination, and customer service to contribute to a prestigious collegiate athletic program. UCLA offers a supportive work environment with extensive opportunities for professional development and the ability to work with a dedicated team focused on delivering exceptional experiences to the athletic community and supporters.
