The Assistant Store Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the overall store operations under the guidance of the Store Manager. This full-time position requires a customer-first mindset and a hands-on approach to maintaining store cleanliness, efficient merchandising, and outstanding customer service. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- one year of retail experience
- six months supervisory experience preferred
- effective communication skills
- strong problem-solving abilities
- good organizational skills
- ability to read and interpret documents
- proficiency in basic math calculations
- capability to operate cash register and generate reports
- knowledge of cash and safety procedures
- valid driver's license and access to own vehicle
- ability to lift merchandise up to 55 pounds
- availability to work in a fast-paced environment with moderate noise levels
- willingness to perform frequent walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and occasional climbing up to six feet
- flexibility to work full-time

Job Qualifications
- Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills

- proficiency in mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
- competency in cash register functions and report generation
- knowledge of cash, facility, and safety control policies and procedures
- knowledge of cash handling including cashier accountability and deposit control
- ability to drive own vehicle to bank for deposits
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- one year of retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred
Job Duties
- Provide superior customer service leadership
- greet and assist customers
- operate cash register and scanner to itemize purchases
- open and close the store at least two days per week
- assist Store Manager with employee scheduling and training
- conduct safety meetings
- ensure employee compliance with policies
- manage merchandise including receiving, unpacking, stocking, restocking, and rotating
- build merchandise displays
- maintain accurate inventory levels through damage, markdown, and paperwork control
- implement and maintain planograms as directed
- ensure financial integrity with cashier accountability, key control, and cash procedures
- authorize and sign for refunds and overrides
- count register tills and prepare bank deposits
- manage the store in the Store Manager's absence
