The role of Assistant Store Manager at Dollar General is essential for maintaining a clean, well-organized store that prioritizes customer satisfaction. The Assistant Store Manager also ensures compliance with company policies, contributes to inventory accuracy by controlling damages and markdowns, and assists in executing planograms under the Store Manager's guidance.

Job Requirements

  • one year of retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Provide superior customer service leadership
  • greet and assist customers
  • operate cash register and scanner to itemize purchases
  • open and close the store a minimum of two days per week
  • assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, training, and conducting safety meetings
  • ensure employee compliance with policies
  • manage merchandise including receiving, unpacking, stocking, restocking and rotating
  • build merchandise displays
  • assist in maintaining accurate inventory
  • control damages, markdowns, and paperwork
  • assist with planogram implementation and maintenance
  • ensure merchandise presentation meets standards
  • maintain financial integrity through cashier accountability, key control, security practices, refund authorization, counting tills, and deposits
  • assist with store management in Store Manager's absence
