Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
- one year of experience in a retail environment preferred
- six months supervisory experience preferred
- ability to walk and stand frequently
- ability to bend, stoop, kneel for stocking and unloading trucks
- ability to handle merchandise and equipment such as scanners, pricing guns, box cutters, merchandise containers, dollies, carts, and rolltainers
- ability to lift up to 40 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 55 pounds
- ability to climb using a step ladder up to six feet
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment with moderate noise
- occasional exposure to outside weather conditions
- possession of valid driver's license and access to personal transportation
- ability to make bank deposits and travel to management meetings and other stores
Job Qualifications
- Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- ability to solve problems and handle a variety of situations
- good organization skills with attention to detail
- ability to read and interpret diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals
- ability to perform mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
- ability to perform cash register functions and generate reports
- knowledge of cash, facility, and safety control policies and practices
- knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control
- ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money
Job Duties
- Provide superior customer service leadership
- greet and assist customers
- operate cash register and scanner to itemize purchases
- open and close the store a minimum of two days per week
- assist Store Manager with scheduling employees
- provide adequate training for employees
- conduct safety meetings
- ensure employee compliance with company policies and procedures
- manage merchandise through receiving, unpacking, stocking, restocking and rotating items
- assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels and controlling damages and markdowns
- implement and maintain planograms according to established practices
- ensure financial integrity via cashier accountability, key control, security practices, and cash control procedures
- authorize and sign for refunds and overrides
- count register tills
- deposit money in bank
- manage the store in Store Manager's absence
