Jimmy John's is a renowned fast-casual restaurant chain specializing in gourmet sandwiches and delivering high-quality products with outstanding customer service. This particular role is for a management position at one of Jimmy John's restaurant locations, focusing on driving restaurant profitability through excellent operational management and superior customer experience.
The General Manager will oversee all aspects of the restaurant's operations, ensuring that customer service is consistently world-class and that all food is prepared and served to the highest standards. This is a dynamic leadership role that involves managing a team ranging from 3 to 50 employees, overseeing labor hours in excess of 80 hours weekly. The General Manager is responsible for staff supervision, including hiring, training, development, and performance evaluation. They will recommend personnel decisions such as promotions, transfers, or terminations based on employee performance and ensure the team is well-trained and motivated.
Additionally, the General Manager will be in charge of inventory management, including ordering, receiving, storing, and issuing food, labor, equipment, cleaning, and paper supplies. They will implement strategies to minimize waste and prevent theft to protect the restaurant’s profitability. A significant part of the role involves forecasting food consumption to prepare adequately for each shift, ensuring the restaurant runs smoothly and customer demands are met without delay.
The managerial responsibilities extend to supervising food preparation and all sales and service processes. The General Manager will ensure efficient delivery logistics by managing delivery routes and serving drivers to maximize delivery business and speed within the restaurant. The role also includes managing the opening and closing procedures, maintaining cash drawer integrity, completing daily and weekly paperwork, and conducting audits for system compliance and quality control.
Maintenance and upkeep of all store equipment also fall under the General Manager’s purview, requiring proactive planning to prevent breakdowns and maintain operational efficiency.
