Job Requirements
- At least 5 years progressive experience in a rooms or food and beverage department at a hotel
- Or a 4-year college degree and 2 to 3 years experience in a rooms or food and beverage department at a hotel
- Or a 2-year college degree and 3 to 4 years experience in a rooms or food and beverage department at a hotel
- Previous supervisory experience required
- Proficient in Windows operating systems
- Ability to work typically a 50 hour workweek
- Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and stand during entire shift
- Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative actions quickly and accurately
- Must maintain composure under pressure
- Must be effective in problem-solving and communication
- Must understand financial information and basic arithmetic
Job Qualifications
- At least 5 years progressive experience in rooms or food and beverage department at a hotel
- Previous supervisory experience
- Proficient in Windows operating systems
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations
- Experience with financial reporting
- Knowledge of hotel operations and standard operating procedures
- Effective leadership and team development skills
- Ability to work with diverse teams
- Basic arithmetic and financial skills
Job Duties
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Avion Hospitality standards
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
- Comply with Avion Hospitality standards and regulations for safe and efficient operations
- Ensure efficient operation of the hotel by supervising guest services, food and beverage, engineering, accounting, sales and housekeeping departments in the absence of the General Manager
- Communicate and correct deficiencies in departments
- Assist General Manager with revenue generation programs
- Participate in sales efforts by meeting clients and participating in sales calls
- Assist in employee development through training programs
- Conduct bi-weekly one-on-one meetings with department heads
- Facilitate employee empowerment for guest satisfaction
- Assist with financial reporting and corporate deadlines
- Ensure training in service standards is conducted in all departments
- Oversee accounts receivable, payroll, month-end closings
- Ensure compliance with preventive maintenance and deep cleaning programs
- Maintain professional relationships and communication across departments
- Support operations during peak periods
- Ensure fair and equitable treatment of all employees
- Complete required corporate training and certifications
- Maintain public areas during peak times
- Manage hotel safe security and conduct monthly audits
- Ensure all scheduled meetings take place on property
