The role of Veterinarian within the Vetco Total Care full-service veterinary hospitals is a highly immersive and dedicated position focused on providing top-quality medical care to pets. Veterinarians in this role utilize their extensive training and veterinary expertise to conduct thorough physical examinations, diagnose and treat illnesses, and deliver preventive care tailored to each pet's specific lifestyle and environmental needs. They employ a problem-based approach that includes developing comprehensive patient problem lists, differential diagnoses, and diagnostic plans followed by effective treatment strategies based on test results.

This position includes performing both routine and complex surgical procedures such as spays, neuters, abdominal explorations, and mass removals, as well as dental procedures like full examinations, radiograph evaluations, extractions, and oral surgeries. Veterinarians also develop treatment plans for day hospitalization patients and coordinate care transitions to overnight facilities or referral hospitals as needed. Communication with clients, team members, and specialists is a crucial part of the daily responsibilities.
