The role of Veterinarian at Petco’s Vetco Total Care Full Service Veterinary Hospitals is a highly immersive and critical position for delivering outstanding veterinary care and exceptional client service. As a Veterinarian, you will be entrusted with providing comprehensive medical care including physical examinations, accurate diagnosis, and treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs based on their lifestyle, environment, and medical history. The position requires adept use of a problem-based approach to develop thorough diagnostic and treatment plans, incorporating advanced diagnostic tools like ultrasound and DDXR, which are standard equipment in all hospitals. Veterinarians at Petco perform a wide range of surgical procedures from routine spays and neuters to complex mass removals and dental surgeries.

This full-time position is based at the Vetco Total Care hospital located at 4209 Washington Rd, Evans, GA. Candidates must hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent from an AVMA-accredited institution, possess active veterinary licensure in Georgia or have the ability to obtain it by the start date, and hold all relevant licenses including DEA and controlled substance licenses where applicable. The role demands strong written and verbal communication skills, compassion, professionalism, and a commitment to ongoing learning and adaptability. Petco offers a work environment that requires physical activity, including bending, kneeling, lifting up to 30 pounds, and prolonged periods of standing, along with regular interaction with clients, veterinary specialists, and suppliers.
