As a Veterinarian at Vetco Total Care, you are not only responsible for delivering superior care to your patients but also play an integral role in elevating the overall practice. Your role involves conducting comprehensive physical exams, diagnosing and treating a wide range of pet health issues, performing routine and complex surgeries such as spays/neuters and mass removals, and managing dental procedures including extractions and oral surgeries. You'll develop detailed treatment plans, communicate effectively with pet parents and referral hospitals, and contribute to a positive work culture by mentoring colleagues and sharing your expertise.

Job Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent
- Active veterinary licensure without contingencies in state of employment or ability to obtain by start date
- Current DEA license
- Current Controlled Substance License if applicable or ability to obtain by start date
- USDA Category I Accreditation or willingness to complete within two months
- Ability to perform anesthesia and routine surgeries including spays, neuters, mass removals, and dentals
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Compassionate and professional demeanor during stressful situations
- Proficient telephone and computer skills
- Team-oriented mindset with willingness to learn and adapt
Job Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school
- Active licensure as a veterinarian without contingencies in the state in which the hospital is located or ability to obtain by start date
- Current DEA license

- Comfortable performing anesthesia and routine surgeries including spays, neuters, mass removals, and dentals

Job Duties
- Provide excellent patient care by performing physical examinations, diagnosing and treating diseases, and providing preventive care according to patient signalment, lifestyle, and environment
- Utilize a problem-based approach including developing a complete problem list, diagnostic plan, and appropriate treatments
- Document all patient observations, exam and diagnostic findings, treatments, medications, client interactions, and diagnoses in medical records
- Perform routine and complex surgical procedures including spays/neuters, abdominal exploratory, and mass removals
- Perform routine and complex dental procedures including examinations, evaluation of radiographs, extractions, and oral surgeries
- Develop treatment plans for day hospitalization patients and coordinate with referral hospitals for continuity of care
- Participate in rounds as incoming or exiting doctor and disseminate knowledge throughout staff to improve care and communication
