Job Description
LA28 is the independent, non-profit, privately funded organizing committee responsible for delivering the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. As a unique and historic host city, Los Angeles will be welcoming the Summer Games for the third time and the Paralympic Games for the first time ever in 2028. The committee's mission centers on creating a memorable, inclusive Games experience that celebrates the rich cultural diversity and vibrant community spirit of Los Angeles and the United States. The LA28 Sport Presentation team plays a crucial role in delivering an electrifying and seamless live event experience throughout the Games. As an Associate within the Sport Presentation team, you will be the primary operational support to the Senior Director, spearheading the coordination, planning, and execution of activities from the early stages through Games time. This role requires a proactive and highly organized professional proficient in live event production with an ability to thrive under tight deadlines and complex demands. The Associate will manage scheduling, logistics, communications, and documentation, ensuring smooth interdepartmental coordination with Broadcast, Sport, Victory Ceremonies, and other key LA28 functions.
This position offers an outstanding opportunity to contribute to one of the largest sporting events globally, gaining priceless exposure and experience in the Olympic and Paralympic Movement. Working within an evolving and dynamic environment, the Associate will support strategic priorities, assist in recruitment and onboarding, contribute to planning documents, and support Games-time operational execution on site. Job Requirements
- Degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in sport management, event production, business, communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in live event production, sport presentation, sports administration, or a related field
- Advanced proficiency in Smart Sheet, SharePoint, Google Workspace, Gemini, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint
- Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior leadership and across multiple departments
- Discreet and professional with ability to handle confidential information
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work onsite in Downtown Los Angeles office
- Availability to work varying hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays during peak event times
Job Qualifications
- Degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in sport management, event production, business, communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in live event production, sport presentation, sports administration, or a related field
- Olympic and Paralympic experience a strong asset
- Advanced proficiency required in Smart Sheet, SharePoint, Google Workspace including Google Sheets and Google Drive, Gemini, Microsoft Excel complex formulas, pivot tables, data tracking, and PowerPoint deck design and formatting for executive-level presentations
- Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing professional documents, briefings, and presentations
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior leadership and across multiple functional areas in a complex organizational environment
- Discreet, professional, and able to handle confidential information with sound judgment
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment
Job Duties
- Serve as the day-to-day operational support for Sport Presentation
- Support the full planning and delivery lifecycle from early-stage development through Games-time execution
- Oversee scheduling, coordinating logistics, and managing communication between departments to ensure seamless execution and deliver an exceptional audience experience
- Support priorities, communications, and follow-up actions, ensuring key deliverables and deadlines are tracked and met across the functional area
- Coordinate and prepare materials for internal and external meetings, including agendas, PowerPoint presentations, briefing notes, and follow-up documentation
- Maintain and manage functional area documentation, tracking tools, and organization of digital work management systems, ensuring all Sport Presentation documents are current, accurate, and accessible
- Support cross-functional coordination between Sport Presentation and other LA28 functional areas including Broadcast, Sport, Victory Ceremonies, Accreditation, Accommodations, Transport, Event Management, Technology, Logistics, Workforce, and Protocol
