Northrop Grumman is a global aerospace and defense technology company renowned for its revolutionary systems that impact lives worldwide. With a rich legacy of technological advancements, including pioneering feats such as the first flight across the Atlantic Ocean, the development of stealth bombers, and landing on the moon, Northrop Grumman continues to lead in innovation. The company fosters a culture that thrives on intellectual curiosity, cognitive diversity, and encourages employees to bring their whole selves to work. Known for a bold and inventive spirit, Northrop Grumman invites individuals with fresh ideas, courage, and a pioneering mindset to join their team in inventing the future while enjoying a collaborative and stimulating work environment.
The current opportunity is for an Associate Quality Analyst or Quality Analyst position within Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics sector located in Palmdale, California. The role is part of the Mission Assurance organization, which plays a crucial role in maintaining high standards of performance and quality in aerospace products and systems. This position supports program quality plans and procedures by utilizing statistical quality control, lean manufacturing principles, and six-sigma tools to ensure products meet both company and regulatory standards. The role demands rigorous review and analysis of quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical systems, and requires the investigation of problems to develop dispositions and corrective actions for recurring issues.
In this role, the analyst acts as a key interface between manufacturing, engineering, customers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure all requirements are met and to recommend corrective actions, dispositions, and modifications when necessary. Candidates will have the option to work various shifts, including 4/10 day or night shifts and 3/10 day shifts, with travel requirements estimated at 10% of the time. The salary ranges from $67,400 to $101,000 for Associate Quality Analysts and from $81,300 to $121,900 for Quality Analysts, reflecting factors like experience, education, and job responsibilities. In addition to competitive pay, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, and long-term incentives, and enjoy benefits such as health insurance, life and disability coverage, savings plans, paid holidays, and paid time off.
This role is ideal for candidates who are completing or have completed their degrees in business-related fields and have a passion for quality assurance in the aerospace sector. Applicants should be U.S. citizens able to obtain and maintain security clearances, including Program Special Access, as needed for this sensitive government contractor position. Preferred qualifications include a minimum GPA of 3.25, prior internship or related work experience, leadership and teamwork skills, and familiarity with quality management systems such as MES, SAP, and CPATS, along with root cause corrective actions and first article inspection processes. Northrop Grumman embraces diversity and strives to create an inclusive work environment where employees can thrive and contribute to groundbreaking aerospace innovations.
