This role is stationed at 725 American Ave, Waukesha, WI, offering a strategic position to engage with patients and visitors directly. The position includes a $2,000 sign-on bonus for external applicants, reflecting a competitive compensation package. The hourly wage ranges from $16.00 to $29.00 based on full-time employment, with pay influenced by factors such as local labor markets, education, experience, and certifications. This role involves a comprehensive suite of responsibilities, including greeting visitors and patients in person, providing excellent customer service via telephone and video conferencing, and handling confidential information with the utmost discretion. The employee is expected to demonstrate technical expertise by maintaining current physician on-call schedules and ensuring proper communication with ProHealth Care physicians.

The scope of this position extends to patient registration duties, such as entering and updating demographic and financial information early in the process, obtaining necessary forms and signatures, photocopying and scanning documents, and providing patients with financial responsibility information. Employees will collect patient liabilities, document amounts accurately, balance cash boxes daily, and collaborate closely with departments like Financial Counseling, Scheduling, and Financial Clearance to ensure a seamless patient encounter. Additional duties include providing wayfinding instructions within the hospital, assisting with information requests, meeting audit accuracy standards, working error reports timely, and managing incoming calls and hospital overhead codes in accordance with policies.

The work schedule rotates between two weeks, with hours from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, covering Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Mondays, and Saturdays as specified. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of customer service experience in an office setting or professional work environment
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to work the specified rotating schedule from 6:30am - 3:00pm
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Job Duties

  • Greets visitors and patients in person
  • Communicates by telephone or video conferencing, upholding excellent customer service
  • Handles confidential information appropriately by protecting and disclosing information to only those authorized
  • Demonstrates technical knowledge and competence in departmental procedures and maintains current physician on-call schedules
  • Enters and updates patient demographic and financial information, ensuring timely patient registration
  • Obtains appropriate applications and forms, confirming signatures are on file, and photocopies/scans documents as needed
  • Provides patients with financial responsibility information and collects patient liabilities, documents amounts, and balances the cash box daily
  • Works with partnering departments to ensure all aspects of the patient's encounter are completed as needed
  • Provides wayfinding instructions and assists with hospital information as requested
  • Meets or exceeds audit accuracy standards, works worklists and error reports timely, and proactively seeks assistance to resolve issues
  • Understands and follows all Switchboard departmental processes
  • Answers incoming calls for the hospital and handles overhead codes per policy and procedures
  • Performs other duties upon request
