Job Description
Broad River Retail is a distinguished leader in the home furnishing retail sector, celebrated for its commitment to integrity, diversity, and a vibrant company culture that truly values its employees, whom they proudly designate as "Memory Makers." As a premier Ashley licensee—the largest and fastest-growing in the United States—Broad River Retail stands at the forefront of the furniture industry, blending a passion for outstanding customer service with a deep respect for employee growth and development. The company’s mission, encapsulated by the mantra "Furnishing Life’s Best Memories," underscores their dedication to creating memorable experiences not only for their guests but also within their internal teams and the broader communities they serve.
Broad River Retail has gained recognition as a Top Place to Work for two consecutive years, a testament to their positive workplace environment and focus on employee satisfaction and professional growth. Their culture fosters collaboration, accountability, and a shared commitment to excellence, which has empowered their teams to deliver industry-leading results and sustained growth.
The Associate General Manager role at Broad River Retail plays a critical part in sustaining this momentum. Reporting directly to the Multi-Unit Leader, the Associate General Manager serves as a hands-on retail sales leader responsible for driving sales performance and operational excellence across showroom locations. This leadership position involves managing a sales team of ten or more home furnishing consultants, guiding daily sales initiatives, and ensuring the consistent application of company policies and procedures. With a focus on coaching, hiring, and developing talent, the Associate General Manager is instrumental in maintaining high-performance standards, enhancing customer experiences, and upholding showroom appearance and functionality.
Candidates for this role will find themselves at the helm of all sales activities, recruiting and retaining top talent, and aligning their team's efforts with Broad River Retail's mission and values. A key part of the role includes instructing and validating a clearly defined sales process, organizing competing priorities effectively, and hitting critical performance metrics such as revenue to budget, sales per guest, and furniture protection sales. This position is customer-facing and requires the manager to be physically present on the sales floor, engaging actively with both team members and customers in a dynamic, fast-paced retail environment.
In addition to operational responsibilities, the Associate General Manager will participate in performance reviews and strategize on staffing levels, marketing feedback, and sales success opportunities, fostering a collaborative approach to meeting store goals. With an emphasis on accountability, efficiency, and respect for others, the candidate must exemplify the highest standards of professional conduct and exhibit a passion for both retail leadership and customer service. Broad River Retail supports its Memory Makers with competitive salary packages, performance-based bonuses, and a robust benefits program, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid time off, 401K matching, and generous employee discounts.
Broad River Retail is committed to inclusivity and equal opportunity, striving to ensure all employees feel respected, valued, and empowered to be their authentic selves. This role demands a flexible schedule, adaptability, and a proactive approach to managing multiple priorities in alignment with the company's growth objectives and customer-centric values. If you are an energetic, accountable, and passionate retail leader looking for a rewarding career path with a growing company, the Associate General Manager position at Broad River Retail offers an exceptional opportunity to make a meaningful impact and grow professionally within the home furnishing retail industry.
