Since its launch in 1996 in Japan, Pokémon has grown into one of the most beloved and globally recognized entertainment properties, captivating audiences of all ages worldwide with its engaging content and cultural impact. The company continues to innovate and expand its footprint in the entertainment industry, maintaining a strong presence through its diverse media offerings and community engagement.
The role of Associate Event Operations Manager at The Pokémon Company International is a dynamic and integral position contributing directly to the success of global Pokémon events. This role reports to the Manager of Convention Operations and supports the coordination and execution of internal and external stakeholder activities during these events. As an exempt, non-managerial position, the Associate Event Operations Manager acts as a key point-of-contact within the company, facilitating communication and logistical arrangements to ensure smooth onsite operations. The role involves managing comprehensive event needs including badges, credentialing, catering, furniture, A/V, and technology equipment, ensuring all requirements are fulfilled promptly and accurately.
A critical aspect of this position is developing and overseeing the catering plan for large-scale events catering to over 1,500 attendees, along with serving as the on-site liaison for food and beverage staff. The role also includes managing the Show Management Office operations, tracking inventory such as radios and keys, and handling the merchant and exhibitor participation from application to execution. Global travel is required approximately four times per year plus additional site visits as necessary.
Candidates for this position will typically have 3-5 years of experience planning large events of 10,000+ attendees and exhibit strong relationship-building skills across various organizational levels. Executive-level support experience, with professionalism, discretion, and a keen eye for detail, is essential. The ability to multitask and independently manage projects under tight deadlines while communicating effectively and respectfully is key to success in this role. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and pivot tables, is required, and familiarity or eagerness to learn AutoCAD is a plus.
The salary for this position generally starts in the range of $86,000 to $102,000 annually, with a wider range up to $150,000 depending on qualifications and professional experience. The company emphasizes a hybrid work environment with a culture driven by impactful, meaningful outcomes. Employees benefit from competitive compensation, full employer-paid healthcare premiums, generous family leave, various employer-paid insurances, retirement plan contributions, fitness reimbursements, commuter benefits, and opportunities for professional development such as LinkedIn learning.
Overall, this role is ideal for professionals passionate about the Pokémon brand, eager to challenge the status quo with curiosity and creativity, and devoted to delivering high-quality event experiences that delight customers and stakeholders alike. The Pokémon Company International fosters an inclusive work environment, encouraging applications from diverse backgrounds and providing accommodations as needed throughout the hiring process.
