Job Description

The Pokémon Company International (TPCi) is a globally renowned entertainment company responsible for managing the Pokémon brand outside of Asia. Established as an extension of the iconic Pokémon franchise launched in Japan in 1996, TPCi oversees an expansive portfolio including brand management, licensing and marketing, the Pokémon Trading Card Game, the animated TV series, home entertainment, and the official Pokémon website. Pokémon has since evolved into one of the most beloved and influential children’s entertainment properties worldwide, captivating fans of all ages and uniting a diverse global community.

TPCi operates in a dynamic and innovative environment that celebrates creativity, customer delight, and the global impact of the Pokémon phenomenon. This environment fosters a culture driven by meaningful outcomes, collaboration, and dedication to quality, ensuring that every fan experience is unique and memorable. The company is committed to supporting its employees with competitive compensation and benefits, robust professional development opportunities, and a diverse and inclusive workplace.

The role of Associate Event Operations Manager at TPCi plays a crucial part in orchestrating the seamless execution of global events that bring the Pokémon brand to life for thousands of fans worldwide. Reporting directly to the Manager of Convention Operations, this role is exempt and does not carry people management responsibilities. The Associate Event Operations Manager acts as the central point of contact for internal teams requiring event presence, ensuring that every detail across events is meticulously planned and executed.

Candidates joining this team are expected to manage complex event logistics including badge and credential management, catering for large-scale audiences over 1,500 people, tech equipment, audiovisual needs, and furnishing. A vital component of the role is liaising with executives such as those in the President’s office to coordinate bespoke onsite requirements, underscoring the importance of professionalism and discretion in executive support.

The position demands extensive travel, with approximately four global events per year and additional site visits as necessary. The individual will oversee the operational aspects of merchant and exhibitor management, from application to successful event execution. This ensures a vibrant and well-organized exhibitor presence that enhances the overall event atmosphere and attendee engagement.

Compensation for this role typically starts between $86,000 and $102,000 annually, with the full salary range spanning up to $150,000 depending on the candidate's expertise and experience. The hybrid work environment supports a balance between remote and onsite responsibilities, reflecting modern work trends and the need for flexibility.

Success in this role requires a passion for the Pokémon brand, an ability to challenge expectations with innovative problem-solving, integrity, respect for diverse perspectives, and a team-first approach. The candidate must be dedicated to delivering high standards, eager to continuously improve, and able to communicate effectively across all organizational levels under pressure and tight deadlines. Mastery of Microsoft Excel’s advanced tools is essential, and knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus or a learning goal.

Candidates can expect to be part of a culture that values impact, celebrates achievements through company events, and provides comprehensive benefits including healthcare, paid family leave, life insurance, income protection, retirement contributions, fitness reimbursement, commuter benefits, learning opportunities, and relocation support. This role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to world-class events showcasing a beloved global brand and to grow within an inclusive, dedicated team.
