SpartanNash is a prominent member of the C&S Wholesale Grocers family of companies, recognized as a leading food solutions company in the United States. The company operates as a distributor, wholesaler, and retailer, leveraging an extensive global supply chain network to deliver grocery and household goods, including fresh produce and the popular Our Family portfolio of products, to locations across all 50 states. SpartanNash serves a diverse clientele that ranges from national accounts and independent grocers to chain retailers, e-commerce platforms, U.S. military commissaries and exchanges, as well as its own brick-and-mortar grocery stores, pharmacies, and fuel centers. The company's commitment to its employees is reflected in its culture of excellence and collaboration, celebrating a team that spans a range of roles from bakery managers to IT developers, and from HR business partners to export specialists.
The Associate Engagement Coordinator role at SpartanNash is a pivotal position that supports the company’s goal of fostering a people-first culture within its retail operations. Located in Wahoo, Nebraska, this role is dedicated to managing the employment life cycle for the assigned store, emphasizing internal employee engagement initiatives aimed at boosting team morale and retention. The responsibilities include overseeing the full recruiting process through Workday, from job postings and interviews to final interview coordination and onboarding. The Coordinator also manages orientation programs and partners with local HR Business Partners to support hiring events or staffing needs.
This role requires strong communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite to ensure effective employee training, safety, compliance, and store communications. The Associate Engagement Coordinator is also entrusted with managing compliance tasks such as processing terminations, handling work permits, and supporting scheduling and workforce management systems. Beyond these operational duties, the Coordinator plays a key role in enhancing the associate experience by maintaining break rooms, training spaces, and offices, thus creating a welcoming environment for all team members. The position may also involve serving as the Person-In-Charge for parts of the weekly schedules, depending on the store volume and needs, and adapting to additional responsibilities as required.
Overall, this role is ideal for someone with a background in Human Resources administrative support or related college coursework who is detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about employee engagement. The Coordinator must be capable of managing a fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality and providing exceptional service. SpartanNash’s commitment to a supportive and inclusive workplace makes this an exciting opportunity for individuals eager to contribute to a company that values its people, fosters growth, and continuously aims to create positive solutions and wins for both associates and customers. This position offers a chance to be part of a dynamic team that truly values its members and upholds a culture where employees and customers alike can thrive.
