The Associate Director of Events at Hyatt plays a crucial leadership role within the Events department. This position focuses on managing and coaching the Event Sales and Event Planning Managers to ensure exceptional service and operational success. Reporting directly to the Director of Events, the Associate Director is responsible for hiring, training, and supervising part of the Events team, including Event Planning Managers, Event Sales Managers, Administrative Assistants, and Banquets management staff. The role combines administrative oversight with direct involvement in servicing group business, contributing to the overall success of the hotel’s events and banquets operations.

This position requires a proactive and results-driven individual with experience in event sales and planning, capable of managing a quota while fostering strong collaboration with Banquets and Customer Service Floor Teams. The Associate Director of Events ensures that every event delivers an exceptional experience, aligning with Hyatt’s standards of hospitality and guest satisfaction. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years experience in hotel event sales and or event planning
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in computer systems and software related to event management
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Flexibility to work varied hours including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • True desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment
  • Refined verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in general computer knowledge
  • Minimum 3 years experience in hotel event sales and or event planning
  • CMP certification preferred
  • Geographically mobile
  • Ability to support Hyatt's purpose by displaying authentic human care to guests and colleagues

Job Duties

  • Hire train manage and coach Event Sales and Event Planning Managers
  • Service group business while assisting management in events and banquets
  • Carry and achieve a quota related to event sales and planning
  • Supervise part of the events department including Event Planning Managers Event Sales Managers Administrative Assistants and Banquets management
  • Collaborate directly with Banquets and Customer Service Floor Teams
  • Ensure exceptional service delivery aligning with Hyatt hospitality standards
