Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Four years of experience in relevant fields
  • Two years working with event/reservations systems
  • Two years of supervisory experience
  • Ability to work nights and weekends
  • Reliable and nondisruptive attendance
  • Knowledge of risk management
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in hospitality management, student affairs, business administration, or related field
  • At least four years of progressively responsible experience in event management, student union operations, hospitality, or related areas
  • At least two years of experience with event and reservations management systems such as EMS, Mazevo, or 25Live
  • At least two years of staff supervision experience
  • Master's degree in higher education, hospitality management, project management, or related field preferred
  • Experience in a university or student union setting preferred
  • Hands-on experience with AV/production services, customer service training, or large-scale events preferred
  • Knowledge of risk management best practices
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly, including nights and weekends

Job Duties

  • Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for all Arkansas Union events and guest-facing operations
  • Oversee budget and billing for Event and Guest Services units
  • Manage daily operations of a large, high-volume service team
  • Coordinate reservations, event setup, production services, and guest relations
  • Act as a key member of the Arkansas Union leadership team and serve as Director's representative in their absence
  • Collaborate with campus partners to support student success and community engagement
  • Ensure compliance with risk management and safety protocols
