SVDP Louisville provides various programs including housing support, feeding initiatives, and comprehensive social services. Their mission-driven approach emphasizes partnership, respect, and sustainability to uplift the lives of those in need.
The Associate Director (Feeding Programs) plays a crucial leadership role within SVDP Louisville, overseeing the organization’s feeding initiatives such as the Open Hand Kitchen (OHK) and the Food Pantry. This full-time position involves managing daily operations, coordinating volunteers, and ensuring all feeding programs deliver nutritious meals and groceries effectively to the community. The Associate Director supervises the Open Hand Kitchen Manager and Food Pantry volunteers, maintaining high standards of food safety and regulatory compliance, while advancing program goals aligned with the organization’s mission. Additionally, this role involves strategic procurement of food supplies through partnerships like Dare to Care and other community donors, managing inventory carefully, and maintaining accurate reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include building and sustaining collaborative relationships with partner agencies, donors, and volunteers to enhance program success and community presence. The Associate Director fosters a positive and mission-driven work environment that promotes professional development, teamwork, and effective communication among team members. The position also oversees maintenance of feeding program facilities and equipment, manages safe operation of delivery vehicles, and ensures all health and safety protocols are strictly followed.
Ideal candidates will bring strong leadership skills, excellent organizational ability, hands-on problem solving, and a compassionate approach to service. Prior experience in nonprofit food program operations and knowledge of food safety regulations are essential. A commitment to St. Vincent de Paul’s mission of serving with dignity and compassion is paramount.
This is a rewarding opportunity to lead meaningful feeding initiatives within a highly respected nonprofit organization in Louisville. The Associate Director will contribute significantly to combating hunger and food insecurity, supporting vulnerable populations with a reliable source of nourishment and care. SVDP also offers a comprehensive benefits package, professional growth opportunities, and a supportive work environment focused on impact and inclusivity.
